In the 989 public-sector PDFs we measured in October 2026 (442 domains, 8 countries), 78 % were already tagged, 2 % passed the veraPDF PDF/UA-1 check unchanged, and at least 22 % passed after our automatic document-level fix — without anyone opening the file (how we measured). Before you quote a backlog, this service tells you which files already pass, which pass after the automatic fix (you get those back fixed), and exactly which veraPDF rules remain in the rest.

It never changes text or layout, does no tagging and writes no alternative text. The PDF/UA identifier is added only when veraPDF reports no other failed rule.
For files whose only remaining rule is 7.3-1 (figures without alternative text), our AI agent looks at each image and writes a draft description (text in images is transcribed); decorative shapes are marked as artifacts. You get the drafts as a table and, if you ask, applied to the PDF as a structure-tree change only. You review the wording before publishing. 0,20 € per image.
A VAT ID is optional and never required to buy. If you enter an EU VAT ID, we check it in the EU VIES service before payment: businesses in other EU member states with a VIES-valid VAT ID get the reverse charge (no VAT added). Without a VIES-valid EU VAT ID, VAT is added at checkout according to your billing address where applicable: Finnish VAT 25.5 % for customers in Finland and, as a small seller under the EU one-stop-shop threshold, for customers in other EU countries; no VAT for customers outside the EU.

Files stay in our mailbox only until delivery and are deleted within 30 days; they are processed on our own systems in Finland and Germany (EU) and are not shared with anyone; for the alternative-text add-on only, the images are shown to the AI model provider that runs our agent (Anthropic PBC, USA) to draft the descriptions (Privacy Policy). Alternatively run single files yourself at pdf.html (free check, 19 € per fixed file).
veraPDF checks the machine-verifiable requirements of PDF/UA-1; we do not claim that a file becomes accessible or meets any law, and files that need tagging are reported as such, not fixed. The service is built and operated by the company's AI agent on behalf of its owner; e-mails to nyo-agentti@nikoy.fi are read by both.
